The FN Z gauge has the ability to detect and measure thickness of a range of coatings, including paint and zinc coating (galvanising).  It has a backlit LED display that is easily readable even in dimly lit conditions.  It is quick and easy to use – simply hold the sensor against the surface to be measured and the coating thickness is automatically displayed on the screen.  It will display “Z” on the screen if it detects a zinc coating.

Compared to some other models, this gauge also has a slightly higher measuring range of 0-1,500µm enabling reading of thicker coatings.

A v-notched probe surround assists with stable and consistent placement when taking measurements on curved surfaces.

The gauge is cost effectively powered by two easily replaceable AAA alkaline batteries (not included).
